About PYC Construction.
PYC Construction is a family-run business, started roughly 30 years ago by brothers Jasper and Ben, based at a purpose-built factory in Welshpool, Powys. The company manufactures closed-panel timber frame systems using a fabric-first approach: each panel is assembled, insulated and made airtight in the factory before leaving the workshop, using a consistent, BOPAS-accredited specification. Components include Smartply Airtight internal sheathing, which is FSC-certified, produces no VOC emissions and combines airtightness with structural sheathing, and Medite Vent external sheathing. PYC offers a complete build package and a self-build route, alongside detailing and design support, aimed at delivering Passive House and low-energy homes. The company's Welshpool premises include a Passive House-designed office alongside the manufacturing facility, which has been featured in Passive House Plus magazine.
